For my first year of college, I think that taking this class has given me an understanding of how a college-level class operates and that not all classes are going to be the same. I really enjoyed being apart of this class and learned that there's always going to be stuff I don't know, which just makes me want to absorb more. For example, I hated using templates because I thought they were repetitive and limited creativity but soon learned that they were helpful, especially when I wrote the "They Say/I Say" essay. Thanks to this class I've developed better time-managing skills, studying skills, acquired new resources to further my education (i.e, Lacuna), and most of all the ability to dig deeper into subjects and apply it to real life.
College has made me want to become a teacher (better said: a professor) and major in Spanish, which requires an understanding of the Spanish culture. I'm already reading books in Spanish to help with my major, and hopefully I'll be able to get into research programs and use my degree to teach in Central American countries. English has always been a favorite subject of mine, and it's great to know it'll always be apart of my life.
